OK, so Christmas may be a little way away but I couldn't keep what I saw at the recent Oliver Bonas Christmas preview press day a secret.... there are too many good things to share and get excited about!! I'm never a sale shopper, I always want to know about the new things about to come into stores and get super excited about new trends and what we are all going to be buying in the coming months.
What was nice about the press show was it didn't feel overly 'Christmassy', they had a few sweet decorations (cactus, pineapples, flamingoes and the cutest bunny tree decorations) and some baubles but the focus was just on great product that would be perfect in your home or as a gift.
I've always been a fan of Oliver Bonas - it's the go to store to score a great gift for everyone, from a teenager to a grandmother! They've really upped their game recently and have a strong range of clothes (sadly none on show at this press day), jewellery, lighting and homewares at affordable prices. This press day definitely made me realise this is a high street retailer to watch in the world of home interiors.
Their big trends were brass, copper, marble, pineapples, gold shimmer and a handmade aesthetic with lots of free form splattering on ceramics and cushions. My favourite pieces were the marble copper initials coasters (always know which drink is yours and well priced at £8!), the little wire hanging letters (I like the idea of adding a little air plant to sit inside it for a kids room), glass domes lights, agate stone glitter dipped book ends (they actually have these in store already) and curved copper mirrors. Most of what's on show will start trickling into stores over the coming months and I will be pulling together some gifting guides closer to Christmas to remind you of some of these goodies.
Letters
Oliver Bonas are renowned for their Alphabet letter ranges - from wash bags to coat hooks. This season the marble coasters are going to be their new hit! How great do they look?!
Lighting
Cement, brass, copper, blown glass and marble based table lamps stood out - I need these in my house now! I will definitely be looking to get one of these for our living room when they hit stores in the coming months.
Gifting
Apple and pear pots to keep your trinkets in, glitter dipped stone bookends, travel jewellery boxes, cat and dog trinket dishes and gold and marble jewellery stands and mirrors...spoilt for choice for gifting ideas...
Jewellery & Bags
We loved the marbled brooches, necklaces and glittery star hariclips. Also the fine jewellery necklaces were fab - simple hoops and double layers always look so chic. Sueded bags (although not particularly baby friendly!) were in really simple shapes and useful size.
Other Homewares
Check out those marbled cushions in the softest hues of pinks and greys. Also the brass wire bins would make great toy or magazine holders. Powder pink glassware, chic teaspoons and cake forks for the perfect tea party! Marble based candle holders with bright candles would make a lovely gift.
